![]() ![]() The string, when hooked around the peg properly, comes around the backside and then over the bottom bar of the Bigsby. I personally make a small bend right at the ball end, almost like a fishing hook, so you can catch the bottom pegs easily. You flip the Bigsby arm over and then the spring falls out, it's loose and just held in place by tension. Knowledge/difficulty of restring: You take the old strings off. I NEVER have issues with the tuning stability of this guitar. If you stretch your strings out thoroughly when you restring and do a good wrap at the top pegs (things you should do anyway on any guitar), and use the Bigsby with the word subtle in mind, you shouldn't have issues with tuning stability. It's best used for a subtle vibrato effect. I think a lot of hate of the Bigsby stems from misusage of the Bigsby and a lack of knowledge on how to restring it easily/properly.
